 Nevada journalists, The Las Vegas chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists is thrilled to announce the launch of our second annual Battle Born Journalism Awards contest. From April 1 through May 15, we will accept entries for 10 contest categories, including three new categories: Education Reporting, Legislative Reporting and Spot News Reporting. Judging will be conducted by out-of-state volunteers selected by Greater Cincinnati SPJ. As always, the contest is open to ALL Nevada-based reporters and Nevada publications. You don’t have to be a member of SPJ Las Vegas to enter. The contest costs only $15 per entry for professionals and $10 for students. That money helps fund our annual $1,000 scholarship awarded to a Southern Nevada college student studying journalism. Last year SPJ Las Vegas was honored to showcase some of the best journalism across Nevada in our inaugural contest.
